i also figured out that if you really want something badly enough, you can do anything for 30 days. have you ever wanted to write a novel? every november, tens of thousands of people try to write their own 50,000 word novel from scratch in 30 days. it turns out, all you have to do is write 1,667 words a day for a month. so i did. by the way, the secret is not to go to sleep until you’ve written your words for the day. you might be sleep-deprived, but you’ll finish your novel. now is my book the next great american novel? no. i wrote it in a month. it’s awful. but for the rest of my life, if i meet john hodgman at a ted party, i don’t have to say, “i’m a computer scientist.” no, no, if i want to i can say, “i’m a novelist.”

To overcome some of the things we need to implement include:

Enhancing our scientific and industrial technologies in such areas as IT, Bio- tech, AI and Cybernetics.

Further develop public infrastructure in under developed regions.

Promote education reform at all levels.

Introduce sustainable development initiatives.

The implementation of free trade agreement between China and ASEAN.

The benefit to China in introducing these initiatives will be significant and far-reaching. It is important to realize that these initiatives need to filter down through all elements of the society in China. For instance, cutting edge technologies and intellectual properties; the development of e-commerce based economy; an education system that encourages innovation and creativity; increased foreign investment; higher living standards; more efficient use of natural resources.

It is important for us to realize these reforms are both essential and necessary. These will help China to fulfill its vast and unrealized potential on the world stage. It will also contribute more to a globalized world of the new century.

As for the future our task is not to foresee but to enable.

油轮侧翻，海洋受到了污染;尾气超标，又污染了大气层;废电池乱丢，既污染了土地，又污染了人们赖以生存的水资源这样的事例层出不穷，难道没有人重视吗?

人人皆知：树木能吸收二氧化碳，排放氧气，净化空气，是我们人类生存的必要的条件。但是有一些人为了金钱去乱砍滥伐树木，造成了过度的水土流失，使大地的植被受到严重的破坏，绿洲和城市也荒漠化，我们人类的生存受到了威胁。就我们平时用的一次性筷子，每天都要耗费数十亩的森林，在那些人眼中，树木除了可以做家具和建筑材料外，似乎没有任何价值。难道还有人不懂树木对我们意味着什么吗我们居住面积已经很小了，如果再这样下去，可能连我们的土地都失去。还有，我们的母亲河黄河近年来河床和含沙量不断增高，成为全国污染最严重的几条江河之一。我们不能眼睁睁地看着黄河从我们手中枯竭，因而有许多环境学者纷纷研究治理黄河污染的方案，试图改善黄河的水质。但如果没有我们的共同参与，我们这个生命的摇篮黄河将会走向衰竭和死亡。

据统计，如果一吨纸需要17棵树如果12亿人每人浪费一张纸大约会毁掉6800000棵树;以一次性木制筷子为例，每年消耗一次性木筷子450亿双。每加工5000双木制一次性筷子要消耗一棵生长30年的杨树，全国每天生产一次性木制筷子要消耗森林100多亩，一年下来总计3。6万亩。6800000、3。6万亩那是一个多么庞大的数字。减少塑料袋、一次性饭盒的使用。如果将这些使用后随意丢弃，那么它们将会对土地造成破坏，影响农业发展，对动物生存构成威胁。而电池在使用后也不可以直接将其随处乱扔，据测量一节一号电池烂在土壤里，可以使一平方米土地失去利用价值;一个扣钮电池可以污染60万升水，相当于一个人一生的饮水量。

我们怎么才可以改变这样的生活现状呢?我们可以在空地上种上一些常绿的小树，一些青青的小草，还有一些鲜艳的小花，这样就可以让我们的家园添加花草树木。不要乱扔垃圾，看到垃圾随手捡起来。比如在一个地方看到一个人打算乱扔垃圾，你应该立刻走过去，告诉他污染环境的代价。如果他不听你的劝告的话，那就帮助他捡起来。还有我们要随时提醒别人要保护环境，不能破坏环境，更要告诉他让他提醒其他人。这样一传十、十传百、百传千，那就会有许许多多的人加入我们的环保行列了。关于废气怎么办?我们一定要多种树，让大树吸进废气，排出新鲜的空气。还可以定单双日开汽车，单日时，大家最好坐公交车、骑自行车、步行上班，尽量少用车。我们要减少污染源，少开工厂，就算一定要排废水，也要先净化再排出。我们可以用以上的做法来改善我们的环境。

如今，环境污染已经给我们的生命带来巨大的危害，给生存环境带来极大的破坏。我们经常看到报道因水源污染，有人吃到水中的鱼而中毒；城市中因空气中的尘埃、车辆尾气、烟雾等造成人们哮喘病比例的增大；严重污染更会带来生态环境的失衡，造成诸如沙尘暴、酸雨、洪水、泥石流等自然灾害。

正因为我们有这样的认识，越来越多的人参与到爱绿、护绿的环保活动中。大家知道吗？3月12日是植树节，就在上个星期日，在古华公园举行了绿树认养活动，许多市民都积极地认养绿树，为环保奉献自己的一份力量。因此，作为小学生，作为城市的小主人，也要积极参与到环保行动中。

今天，我演讲的题目是《保护生态环境，共建和谐家园》。

46亿年前，地球诞生在遥远的太阳系，那是一颗充满生机的星球，全身除了蓝色以外，大部分是绿色，真不愧是一个生命的摇篮。

日复一日，年复一年，人类社会发展突飞猛进，地球上大量地开办工厂，工业废气、废水没有得到很好的处理，“保护伞”被破坏，地球蒙上了一层厚厚地“灰沙”

由于生态系统的破坏，地球上的一些动、植物已经灭绝或正临灭绝的危险。例如卡罗莱纳鹦哥鸟，因人类垂涎其肉和羽毛，或当做果园里的害鸟还射杀，1914年灭绝。还有一种植物，叫红树林，红树林生长在陆地与海洋交界带的滩涂浅滩，是陆地向海洋过度的特殊生态系，它也是一种十分稀有的植物，也是因为遭到许多人的砍伐，数量积聚减少。在地球上每天大约有27种生物灭绝，为了保护野生动、植物，许多国家建立了自然保护区，还专门颁布了《野生动物保护法》。在自然保护区内不准狩猎采伐，不能破坏自然生态环境。我们人类是宇宙的主宰，地球上的“疾病”将由我们每一个人来治。

但是，人类始终不听劝告，人类还在战争，曾几何时，人类战争爆发，炮弹、火箭、还有化学武器，地下核试验，炮火对植物的破坏，核辐射对生命的摧残，由此可见，和平是人类构建和谐家园的重要前提。

“保护环境吧，保护我们美好的家园吧！”地球在哀求；“维护和平吧，让我们构建和谐的家园吧！”地球在呼吁。

5、治理与保护环境并不是需要经济的支持，它可以是一种环保的意识，在某些方面，保护环境反而会推动经济的发展。

6、环境与经济并非不可共存，只是只有在保障着环境的基础之上去发展经济，才是最为理想与科学的社会发展方式。

总而言之，保护环境并不是会拖慢甚至停止经济的发展，它反而有着一种促进的作用，有了良好的环境，经济的发展的质量才会有质的提升，环境的保护是一个成熟的社会发展所必不可少的一点，也是人们应首先培养的意识。

让我们不妨来想一想，发展经济的最终目的是什么，很简单，无论是医学、军事及经济的发展都是为了人们，或者说我们能够生活得更好，但如果没有一个好的生活与工作环境去进行文明的发展，那么“生活的更好”这一说法简直就是一个笑话。我们不要只想着过去的种种，也不要在那想象未来的美好，看看我们的当下吧，相信同学们都看了柴静的“穹顶之下”，首先，柴静她本人就是环境污染的受害人，其次片中提到“20xx年北京污染天数达到175天、天津197天、沈阳152天、成都125天、兰州112天、石家庄多达264天”而环境污染所带来的后果却不仅仅如此，它还会带来各式各样的疾病与阻碍人们的生活，而这，也就是人们不重视保护环境而导致的一部分后果。

但是如果在这个时候人们还是只知道先发展经济在保护环境的话，我就真的是觉得人们是被时代冲昏了头脑，完全看不清现状吗？我相信不会的。是的，我们都想要美好的生活，然而我们中国如今经济是发达了，可我们那些整日生活在一片白色中的人们，他们的生活美好吗？这也就是我们发展经济带来的所谓的“美好生活”吗？

保护环境并不是政府的事情，也不是钱的事情，而是我们每个人的事，我们为的不是用一堆财力人力物力去暂时抑制环境的污染，而是在不刻意的情况下拥有美好的生活，这就需要我们每个人的环保意识，只有人人都将环境放到第一位，才能根治污染，真正获得美好生活，让我们先解决了眼前的`种种问题再去想经济如何去发展吧，因为只有那样，不仅是我们自己，乃至全人类全地球，都才能真正的拥有光明。

首先，xx老师给我们讲了垃圾分类。本来垃圾可以分为这几类:可回收垃圾、有害垃圾、厨余垃圾、其他垃圾。可回收的垃圾是蓝色的桶，包括金属、玻璃、纸张等。有害垃圾是一个红色的桶，包括电池、废灯泡、过期药品等。厨余垃圾是一个绿色的桶，包括菜渣、果壳等。其他垃圾是黄色的桶，包括贝壳、烟头、一次性餐具等。

后来我们去xx六园实地考察。在小区的宣传还是很不错的。大家都知道垃圾分类是怎么回事，也能说出垃圾分类的几个优点。但是，当我们走近垃圾桶一看，发现很多居民还是不道德，把垃圾扔进了垃圾桶。由此我们知道，xx六园的居民心里是知道的，但实际上是不会去做的。我想大概是因为家里没有这个习惯吧。所以，我想提几点建议:

1.希望xx六园的社区宣传部门能多宣传，尽量让大家了解垃圾分类，并努力实践。

2.希望小区居民每个小区家里能有四个垃圾桶，像这样分类垃圾，扔完垃圾再扔进相应的垃圾桶。

在我们家里，有一个红色的垃圾桶和一个蓝色的垃圾桶，它们分工工作：红色的垃圾桶是用来盛一些果皮、蔬菜皮这些不可回收的物品；而蓝色的垃圾桶是用来盛一些废报纸、打草纸等可回收物品。

在我们家里，绝不会浪费每一滴水，而是循环利用：洗衣服的水都不会倒掉，而是把它们倒到水桶里，那样不但可以冲厕所用，而且还可以在擦地的时候，涮拖把。

在我们家里，不管是哪个超市发来的会员快讯，我们几乎都不会扔掉，而是叠成一个个小垃圾筒放到餐桌上盛杂物；吃完的方便面袋子，会用来盛馒头、肉之类的，如果是方便面桶，就当杂物桶了。
